Protected Designations
The regions of Normandy and Brittany are renowned for their cider tradition and unique craftsmanship. The AOC/AOP labeled ciders, perries, and spirits guarantee authenticity, quality, and respect for the terroirs. Each designation reflects the diversity of soils and climate: from the Cidre Cotentin with its orchards in the northern Cotentin, to the rich and aromatic Cidre Pays d’Auge, not forgetting the Cidre Cornouaille, the only AOP-labeled cider in Brittany.
These regions also produce alcohols from apples and pears: the Calvados and Pommeau de Normandie, with their complex and balanced flavors, or the sparkling and fruity Poiré Domfront. These products showcase the ancestral expertise of the producers, combining traditional methods with a demand for quality, to offer unique drinks that are truly representative of their terroir and history.
